Tracking and traps
Over the last few weeks we have been learning about new Zealand native birds and animals being killed by predators like Rats,Weasels,Ferrets and the worst of all Stoats. So our class put tracking tunnels around the school. After the next few weeks we took the ink pads out we found rat and mice footprints. After the next few days Cody came in and taught us how to set traps we all ways need to set traps with an adult. When she was finished explaining how to set traps she pulled out a dead Stoat out of her plastic bag, and through it on the victor Rat trap. Cody said if you want to catch a stoat or a hedgehog or something similar you would need a egg or a piece of meat. Then me And Charlie went to put the trap out were we got the Rat and Mice prints. I hope we get a Stoat or a Rat😝😎.
