Weta


Classification                                                                                                                                            Weta is the biggest insect in New Zealand and can weigh up to 70grams. Weta is nocturnal but only found in NZ. They have big heads, no nose and ears on their legs.


Description
The six-legged creatures have assisted over 70 million years. Weta also have palps that are used to taste and smell its environment. Weta have pincers to fight other Weta.

Location/ habitat
Weta can be found on small New Zealand islands, forests and Auckland Zoo.

Dynamics
Weta can do lots of things like massive poos, bite, draw blood and lay up to 300 eggs in a lifetime.
